This is the 9th race of this season and Kyle Busch has a commanding lead at the peak of the standings. With the race’s defending champ, and 3 wins on the season, Busch is the odds on favorite to win this Saturday night based on the majority of NASCAR websites.

The Richmond Raceway was a part of NASCAR since the 1950s. It’s one of the oldest venues to host NASCAR races and it is a place where a lot of the legends of NASCAR were born. Lee Petty, Richard Petty’s father, won the race in 1953. Races at Richmond have run every year since 1959.

The track has an asphalt surface using a distance of .75 miles. It’s a basic d-shape oval with a backstretch, front stretch, and 4 turns. Where it’s traditionally been held for decades after being moved around on the calendar throughout the past couple of decades, the spring Richmond race returned into Saturday nights.
